Hello again, It’s been awhile. A little over a month to be exact.While my goal was to write a blog post every month, I think putting that rule in my head added stress that wasn’t really there. So July had no blog, I didn’t continue any of my stories, I did my monthly photo post, but that was about it…sort of.
Okay, truth be told I did write but I didn’t write my blog or in the stories that I already have in progress. What I DID do is write two mini stories that I will flush out into short stories, and for the first time in decades I painted not like painting models or my armor (which I should make time for) but on canvas board. I have really enjoyed unlocking that side of me, as I feel like I locked that part of me up a long time ago. It was freeing, cathartic, and beautiful. So July was and wasn’t an extended break time, and breaks are ok.
I may have mentioned before wanting to design affirmation/wellness cards, but now I am torn between making a deck of cards or a book or both? Also coming up this month is my Birthday, so I will probably have a retrospective blog up later this month as well as the first post under the Daycare days series, so 3 blogs this month!
Before I get to other news, quick shout out to my wife who has been helping me keep my head on straight during that break. I know my friends & family would have too, but I didn’t reach out, still love them as well. If you follow this blog and you are on twitter (or discord), I’d like to ask a small favor. By that I mean, feel free to message me “Hey have you written anything?” “How are you coming along with your yearly goals?” Just because sometimes we all need a little nudge to get unstuck.
In other news Karma comes hard for those that tried to overthrow the government and committed acts of treason. Trump got raided, Alex Jones’ lawyers leaked his info, Jan 6th committee hearings are painting a full picture of everything. Student debt hasn’t been canceled yet, but should (my debt is almost paid off, but it should be canceled for everyone else. I still think public education should be free, if not all education. We should want everyone to be educated). Reproductive rights are still being taken or given at the state level unfortunately, but hopefully we’ll get something codified to protect all women’s rights across the country. Some of the racist cops and others were sentenced in the killing of Breonna Taylor and for the killing of Ahmaud Arbery, which hopefully will cause the right changes to be made in our justice systems and in America as a whole.Ukraine continues to do it’s best to protect its borders and people, and this will probably lead into another world war, hopefully I am wrong, but there a tension cracks all around the world both foregin and domestic.
