Alright, where are those all lives matter people? Now is your time to shine.
Let’s get together and make sure all lives matter. Let’s ban assault weapons and stop banning books so we can show people we don’t fear knowledge but we stand against the constant senseless mass killings of people. Let’s restore women’s right to choose what is best for their bodies, let’s increase care for our vets so they know their sacrifices were appreciated. Let’s increase mental health services for those in need and education for those that don’t understand.
Let’s provide legislation that protects and assists minorities, women, Lgbtq+, indigenous/first nations tribes, and immigrants. Not to make people lazy or reliant, but to lift these communities up since the government has beaten them down for so long or just swept them under the rug. All lives matter right?
Let’s teach the true histories of the world and not omit the stories that make the “victors” look bad. A well educated/informed society would be a productive and progressive society. Which includes how we treat our elderly, homeless, our land, and our animals. With growing technologies we can change how our food is grown and processed, things can be done more humanely. Life saving medicines can be made affordable so the terminally ill don’t have to lose everything for a few more moments.Because all lives matter right?
Society doesn’t blink an eye for women that want bust augmentation, or people that want botox, or men that want pectoral implants or hair plugs, so the same society should allow trans people to get the medical procedures done to feel right in their own skin. It’s a personal choice and adults should have the right to choose what they want for their own bodies. Because all lives matter right?
My nieces and nephews have a right to know my history as they are white or of mixed race and don’t get to hear a lot of what other’s ancestors really went through, or potentially what their ancestors did. They have a right to know, so those past practices can stay in the past and today’s problems can be fixed. Slavery is still a thing, hate groups are still a thing, systemic racism is still a thing, gender inequality is still a thing, corruption in government is still a thing. People need to know what they’ve come from so they better today for tomorrow’s world, because all lives should matter.
Life is sacred, all lives are but they aren’t treated as such. In America there is still so much racial disparity, there are still model minorities, unjust policing and governing systems. Abuse begets abuse, and the cycle needs to stop. I’m sure some people become “bad” just because but some are stuck in the cycle, “X hurt me so I will pass it on”. The cycle of abuse needs to be broken, the chains of ignorance snapped, and our system reevaluated and rebuilt where necessary. I am a vegan, you may not be, but we both deserve to know how our food is grown/raised & processed. We both should be able to see where our food is processed, and it should be as cruelty free as possible. And before anyone potential jumps on me about “Well plants are alive” I know, and their life is sacred as well and while I wont go into details I do honor the plants and animals in my practices. Side note, If I had the resources I would have my own food forest and live off the land as best as I could (unfortunately the land I wanted is now off the market, but it’s not likeI had the millions of dollars needed to purchase it yet, but I can still dream).
All lives should matter, but they don’t sadly and everyday world governments show what they think about their people, and in the United States if you aren’t wealthy, white, cookie cutter family, you can be assured they probably don’t care about you (or me) like they should.
Shit sounds hopeless, but it doesn’t have to. Vote, do your research and vote in every election you can. Also speak with your money, that’s all corporations understand, so choose wisely on who gets your time, money and energy. Also educate yourself and the next generation, if people are banning books, see which ones and why. I bet they’re books with relevant knowledge.
Take care of yourself and advocate for those that can’t. Be an agent of change, and maybe we can make this world a better place. You are sacred, and you don’t need someone to tell you your worth. Protect the children, and love them regardless of how they identify. And ban assault weapons.
Later days
